I woke up this morning, and I could feel the fluid in my hands and feet before I even got out of bed. I was like, "oh, man." I know what retained fluid can do to the scale, and it did. I was back up to 330 lbs this morning. I weighed Thurday morning and I was at 328 lbs. This comes after four days on the post op diet. I'm not really disappointed. It is what it is. I know I did the work this week.
All week I only drank water with the exception of a cup of coffee in the morning. I haven't had a cup of coffee since Wednesday morning! Yesterday I made a half gallon of tea sweetened with splenda. I drank two tall glasses of that. I think the caffeine from the tea caused me to retain water.
So let's talk about this diet! It's not hard at all! I don't find myself hungry during the day. I know it's the protein I'm consuming. There's the yogurt and cottage cheese, two protein shakes a day, a big salad for lunch, and three ounces of meat for dinner with steamed veggies. All that stuff sticks with you for awhile. The only time I've felt "munchy" is right before bed and that's because I've had a habit of munching while reading for awhile now. That old habit is going to be kicked to the curb. I haven't eaten any snacks before bed in three days now.
On Friday I made 10,000 steps!! Yes I did!!
So I could easily be discouraged about the scales this morning, but I'm not. I know I did my part. I know I have a LOOOOONGGG way to go, but I am on the road and headed in the right direction. My goals this week are to keep on the pre-op diet, and continue getting in my 64oz. water daily, and to push every day for 5K steps or more!
What are your goals?!?! I'd love to hear from you!! Email me, Facebook me, leave a comment, and don't forget to watch my latest post in the video blog "Goodbye, Fat Kat!"
***Update: I got on the scale this morning (Tuesday) because I felt like I'd shed some of the fluid that I had yesterday. And I weighed in at 324.2!! SIX pounds of excess water! Oh my goodness. I'm so happy!! Just thought I'd update you all!!
